Chestnut Street Home Purchases
During the month of March, three Holyoke residents became first-time homebuyers with their purchase of homes constructed by the Holyoke Housing Authority on Chestnut Street. These three homes, built on the former Minnie Dwight State Public Housing development site, further improve the neighborhood and continues the Authority's goal of providing affordable homeownership opportunities to low/moderate income households. In addition to purchasing the homes the buyers utilized the Authority's HOME funded Borrowers Assistance Program (BAP) to help with downpayment and closing costs. The Authority wishes these families great success as homeowners.
