As a public housing authority, the mission and objective of the Holyoke Housing Authority is to provide safe, affordable housing to low- and moderate-income people.
Public housing is limited to low-income families and individuals, whose adjusted incomes are at or below 80% of median. The Authority determines your eligibility based on: 1) annual gross income, 2) whether you qualify as elderly, a person with a disability, or as a family; and 3) U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status. If you are eligible, the Authority will check your references to make sure you and your family will be good tenants. The Authority will deny admission to any applicant whose habits and practices may be expected to have a detrimental effect on other tenants or on the project's environment.
Applications are available during the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Admissions and Continued Occupancy Department located 475 Maple Street, Holyoke, MA, 01040. Applications will be mailed to individuals upon request. The HHA shall provide reasonable assistance to applicants in completing the application form.
