Landlords
Partner with Holyoke Housing Authority (HHA) and get reliable rent payments while helping local families find safe, stable housing. As a participating landlord, you gain access to qualified tenants, ongoing support from HHA staff, and new financial incentives.
Why partner with HHA?
- Steady rent payments
Eligible tenants typically pay a portion of the rent, and HHA pays the rest directly to you, helping to reduce missed or late payments. - Pre-screened applicants
Work with households who have already been determined eligible for the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program through HHA. - Local staff support
You have a dedicated leased housing team you can contact with questions about inspections, paperwork, or tenancy issues. - Incentives for new and returning landlords
HHA now offers cash bonuses for qualifying new units and new owners who join or rejoin the program.

New Unit Bonus
Receive a one-time $500 bonus when you lease a new unit into Holyoke Housing Authority’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program, or when you bring back a unit that has not been in the HCV program for at least three years. This bonus is available to owners who add a qualifying unit to the HCV program.
New Owner Bonus
Receive a one-time $500 bonus when you, as an owner, participate in Holyoke Housing Authority’s HCV program for the first time, or when you return after not leasing through the program for at least three years. This bonus is available to owners who have not leased a unit through the HCV program within the last three years.
Please note, new landlords could be eligible for both bonuses.
How it works
Become a Participating Landlord with Holyoke Housing Authority
01
List your unit
Contact HHA’s leased housing staff to share information about your available apartment or home.
02
Complete inspections and paperwork
HHA will schedule an inspection to ensure the unit meets federal Housing Quality Standards, then work with you on the lease and Housing Assistance Payment contract.
03
Receive monthly payments
After move-in, HHA pays its portion of the rent directly to you each month, and the tenant pays their share based on their income.
An example: A two-bedroom unit that rents for an approved amount is leased to an HHA voucher holder; the tenant pays around 30 percent of their income and HHA pays the remainder straight to you.
